Tilted garage door?
If you ever hear a loud noise coming from the garage and find your garage door tilted and favoring one side, it is most likely the result of a broken garage door spring. To see if this is the problem all you must do is go inside your garage and check the back of the track or above your overhead door to find either extension or torsion springs. If one of them needs to be replaced, you will need a garage door repair.
We DO NOT recommend buying replacement parts from a home improvement or hardware chain because every garage door has a specific weight and the spring replacements need to be an exact match.
When the wrong garage door springs are installed it adds a lot of extra weight to the door and it can cause a series of problems down the road, especially if you have a garage door opener installed.
Because you are not manually lifting the door you will never be able to tell how heavy your garage door really is, and all that unnecessary weight will eventually break your motors gear shaft.
We also DO NOT recommend trying to repair or fix your garage door when one of your springs are broken because the door is still under extreme tension and you will need the correct tools and knowledge to repair a garage door. If you lack either one it could result in serious injury.
